As a true "do-er," working in a knowledge-driven corporate world where action and targets are very important, I was good at coming up with and developing strategies to achieve my goals. I could easily visualize the forms and actions and wanted to realize them as soon as possible, ideally yesterday.
Often, this worked, but I didn’t feel the deep fulfillment of what I was doing. Sometimes it didn’t work because I was "off track," it wasn’t quite right. That would lead to doubt or frustration, and I would think even more and come up with new strategies.
Little by little, I realized that I might have been moving too fast and was leaving something else behind. My left hemisphere was in control, overshadowing my deeper feelings. It wanted action immediately and didn’t allow enough time to go inward and feel my goal.
Or I let myself be misled and swept along by beliefs that dominate the business world. Speed! Immediate results! Clear action-oriented language! That’s what was expected of me, I thought...
Meditation made me more aware of these patterns. It took me deeper into who I "really" am. Much of the strategies and frustrations fell away. There was more balance between "being" and "doing." Patience increased.
In particular, the meditation course "Peace: Living Your Life's Purpose" has continued to be a great support in this process of feeling my deep purpose and allowing the right actions to emerge from it.
Because it works in this order!
First, feel the energy. That brings peace. A deep peace of feeling what I am here to do on this earth. I have a place and a contribution. I don’t need to force anything.
At the same time, that energy also provides stimuli and a little push when I am "being" too much and "doing" too little.
Then let the forms emerge. New ideas, actions, and encounters actually begin to show up on their own. "It’s this way, Greet!" or "No, no, you’re doing your old tricks again..."
This process of feeling the energy and letting the forms emerge can happen very quickly. Much faster than the strategist behind her desk could ever imagine.
Once you’ve tasted your own flow, you’re fully in it and you swim along.
It’s a constant practice to experience deeply and also to dare to revise when you get thrown off track. A practice that brings fulfillment and excitement. I wish that for everyone!
